Lading Manager Full Download

Lading Manager Full runs on Windows 10/11 machines.

You must perform all of the funtions, in order, on EACH of the download sets and instructions below. Please take your time and do not skip any steps.

Lading Manager Support will install and configure this for you at no additional cost. PLEASE take advantage of this as it will save you time.

Download Set 1: Microsoft® SQL Server Express

Lading Manager Full uses Microsoft SQL Server as its database. For standalone installations, you will need the standalone version of SQL Server 2016 or above. If you want a network version, please contact Support for assistance.

If SQL Server Express has already been installed on your PC, and you know the access password and instance name, then you may skip this step. (If you are not sure, check to see if you have a c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder.)

You must log onto the PC as the PC's administrator.

Installation instructions for SQL Server Express may be found on the ALMSys, Inc. website by clicking here.

Upon successful installation of SQL Server Express, please continue to the next download set.

Download Set 2: Lading Manager Programs

Click here to download Lading Manager Full program files.

Run the download. This will launch the Lading Manager installation program. Press the Immediate Installation button. (Please note that this will install into the c:\Program Files (x86)\ALMSys Inc\LMFull folder. If you are upgrading from an earlier version, this WILL NOT HARM your existing data.)

This will get the program installed and short-cuts created.

DO NOT USE THE LADING MANAGER SHORT CUTS UNTIL ALL OF THE FINAL INSTRUCTIONS IN THE NEXT SECTION HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.

Final Configuration Instructions

Now that you have performed the initial installation, here are the final steps to configure the Lading Manager Full and its database.

As a result of the installations, a menu was created for you under Start - Programs - Lading Manager Full. Run the "LMFull Initialization" from that menu, and then follow these steps:

  1. The Server Name should be .\LADINGMANAGER. That is the instance name that should have been installed with SQL Server Express. If it is different, or if it is a network version, then you must change this to what works in your situation.

  2. The Database Name is LADING. (Upper or lower case is fine.)

  3. The User ID for standalone versions is sa. For network versions, it is LADING.

  4. The Password for standalone versions is what you provided SQL Server Express. For network versions, it is lading.
  5. The Query, Work, and PDF folders should be where those folders reside in the LMFull or folder in which Lading Manager Full was installed.

  6. Save your changes by clicking the Save button at the top.
  7. Go to the Connection tab.
  8. Click the Connect to SQL Server button. For network versions, it should connect right away. If not, go back to the first tab. and review those settings.

For standalone versions, it should change the tab at the top to "Connection: Connected to SQL Server" and Database Status of "NOT FOUND". This means that it is talking to SQL Server OK, but there is not a Lading database created yet. If this is the case, click the Create Lading Database button. If successful, the top tab will change to "Connection: LADING Found" and the Database Status should now read "FOUND".

  9. Go to the Create Tables tab.
  10. Click Create All Tables and let it run. That will check every box in that list.
  11. Click Load All tables and let it run. That will check every box in that list.
  12. Close that program.

And Finally ....

Lading Manager Full is now ready to go! When you run the program, get into Help and go to the help topic, "Getting Started." Please read this topic as it goes through some additional system setup instructions.
