Lading Manager (full) Download

Lading Manager runs on Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7 machines. For Windows 7, it was tested on 32 bit Windows 7 Ultimate.

Lading Manager Support is 800-827-3164. Please call if you want assistance.

The total download for the complete Lading Manager is about 264 megabytes. If you do not have high-speed Internet, then you may wish to order the CD-ROM installation. ($6.25 for shipping and handling.) Contact Support if you wish to order the program on CD-ROM.

You must perform all of the funtions, in order, on EACH of the download sets and instructions below. Please take your time and do not skip any steps.

Download Set 1: Microsoft® SQL Server 2005 Express

Lading Manager uses Microsoft SQL Server as its database. For standalone installations, you will need the standalone version of SQL Server 2005. If you want a network version, please contact Support for instructions.

If SQL Server 2005 Express has already been installed on your PC, then you may skip this step. (If you are not sure, check to see if you have a c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder.)

You must log onto the PC as the PC's administrator.

Installation instructions for SQL Server 2005 Express may be found on the ALMSys, Inc. website by clicking here.

Upon successful installation of SQL Server 2005 Express (and rebooting the PC), please continue to the next download set.

Download Set 2: Lading Manager Programs

Download set 2 is approximately 15 megabytes. You have the choice of downloading this as one long download, or broken down into 3 separate downloads. Choose one method only.

One Download

  1. Program download as one file

This will launch the Lading Manager 3.2 installation program. Press the No-Questions-Asked Installation button. (Please note that this will install into the c:\Program Files\Lading Manager folder. If you are upgrading from an earlier version, this WILL NOT HARM your existing data.)

Separate Downloads

All of the downloaded pieces put together will create the Lading Manager installation setup program. After ALL pieces have been downloaded and unzipped, the actual installation can commence.

Download each of these IN ORDER. Run (open) each of them. They will create a C:\Lading Manager 3.2 Setup folder. (Please do not change this designation.)

Each download will display a "WinZip Self-Extractor" window. Press the Unzip button, then OK, then Close.

  1. Program download file 1

  2. Program download file 2

  3. Program download file 3

When the last one has been unzipped, it will launch the Lading Manager 3.2 installation program. Press the No-Questions-Asked Installation button. (Please note that this will install into the c:\Program Files\Lading Manager folder. If you are upgrading from an earlier version, this WILL NOT HARM your existing data.)

After the installation has run, the C:\Lading Manager 3.2 Setup folder may be deleted.

This will get the program installed and short-cuts created.

DO NOT USE THE LADING MANAGER SHORT CUTS UNTIL ALL OF THE FINAL INSTRUCTIONS IN THE NEXT SECTION HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.

Final Installation Instructions

Now that you have performed the initial installation, here are the final steps to configure the Lading Manager and its database.

As a result of the installations, a menu was created for you under Start - Programs - Lading Manager. The next steps will run some of the items from that menu.

Initialize Database

Select "Initialize Database" from the Lading Manager menu. Follow these steps:

  1. When you installed SQL Server, you specified a password for the "sa" login. Please type this password in both password fields and press the Update INI File button.

  2. Press the Proceed with Initialization button.

  3. The program will go through the steps indicated on the screen. When finished, it will tell you that the Lading Manager is ready to run. If you get any other message, stop here and contact Support.

  4. Close the program.

And Finally ....

The Lading Manager is now ready to go! When you run the program, it will take you into the help topic, "Getting Started / Main Menu." Please read this topic as it goes through some additional system setup instructions.

When your registration payment has been processed, you will be sent an unlock file along with instructions on how to apply it. See help topic, "How to Register" for more information.
